Now and again at iGeek we like to have a spring clean.
Here at igeek we're as fond as the next man of a drink. So it was with great pleasure that we've been building a bespoke business application for our client, The Bartender.
igeek are pleased to announce the launch of a new website we've been beavering away on for the last few weeks.
A new website that helps solar panel owners monitor their investment.
Welcome to the Autumn 2011 igeek newsletter. It's been a busy year and we thought we'd share with you some of our news.
We're busier than we've ever, so I've scheduled a weekly blog update in my diary as it keeps slipping off the to-do list :). At the moment we've got over a dozen projects in progress, which is a record for us, but you can expect to see more here in the coming weeks.
We're very sad to hear the news of Steve Jobs' death. He's been a huge influence on us from the very start, in fact without him, there'd be no igeek. The company that igeek started at, Insanely Great, was named after his Macintosh launch speech and we started it because the company we worked at decided to replace all their Macs with PCs and we didn't want to work there any more.
We've been hard at work the last few month's on a new website for Charlie Hamilton James. Working alongside designer Pete Poland we've created something we're all really proud of. Check it out;

A few weeks ago igeek had its 10th birthday. As we've reached this milestone, I thought I'd traipse through the igeek archives to bring you an image from the early days.

Mark's been tinkering with our newsletter module ....
Filemaker and Zulu : Turn FileMaker Server into an iCal Server
Over the past few months, we've started using Zulu - a software product that turns FileMaker into an iCal server. This is useful as it means you can subscribe to a calendar from your Mac (via iCal), PC (via Sunbird or Evolution), iPhone or iPad (using those devices built in calendar). Not only that but you can have multiple calendars, for instance one for Timesheets and one for meetings. That's very useful, as it may be that not everyone in your organisation wants all of the calendars. Zulu is bi-directional too, so events created outside of FileMaker will show up as normal, editable records.
...Tweaking our site
If you've been here before, you may have noticed that we've tweaked our website design a bit. We've done this so the site works better on mobile devices - We've noticed from our Web Stats that an increasing number of people are using these instead of a Mac or PC, so we felt it was time we made them more welcome! We've also added this blog, which we'll update weekly with the latest developments.
